Model village opens in Gampaha

Godagedara village in the Gampaha district developed at a cost Rs.10
million as a model village under the Jathika Saviya - Maga Neguma
development drive was opened by Nation Building Minister S.M.
Chandrasena and Religious Affairs Minister Pandu Bandaranayake,
recently.
Over 500 families will benefit from the basic infrastructure and
recreational facilities provided to this village.
The village also provides seven houses to low income families and
water- sealed sanitary facilities to 16 families. Eighteen families have
been provided drinking water facilities when the ground well is
constructed.
A fully equipped committee hall will also be available.
In addition, the reconstruction of an anicut in the area provides
irrigation facilities to over 450 farmer families in the area. Projects
targeted for livelihood development and home gardening are in progress.
Line Ministries and other Statuary Organizations also supported the
Nation Building Ministry in this village developing project. |
