Lone looter on stealing spree in A'pura

Anuradhaprua Police has requested public assistance to nab a suspect responsible for looting four petrol sheds, attempted robbery of a vehicle belonging to a politician and a robbery at a licenced liquor bar in Anuradhapura area during the last two months.

The latest crime committed by this gangster is robbery of cash and valuables of passengers travelling in a Colombo bound private passenger bus, at a lonely place at Srawasthipura area six miles off Anuradhapura city, along the Anuradhapura-Kurunegala main road.

The bus with 30 passengers had left Anuradhapura at 1.15 am on April 30.

Eyewitnesses have stated that the man who had a T56 gun, fired several shots to the floor of the bus injuring four.
