Terrorist attempt to divide Bolivia
Bolivia: The Bolivian press highlighted on Wednesday recorded
declarations by Eduardo Rozsa Florez, the leader of the terrorist group
dismantled here, stating that his mission was to promote secession
through the use of arms.
El Deber newspaper noted that in an interview made by a Hungarian
journalist on September 8, 2008 Rozsa confirmed that he came to Santa
Cruz at the request of people who asked him to form a group of regional
self-defense.
He also said that if peaceful coexistence with the rest of the
country was not achieved he would look for its independence.
The interview was done by Hungarian journalist Andras Kepes, who
Rozsa considered of his complete trust, and was done under the condition
that the material be released if something happened to Rozsa, like his
death.
The 49 year old man said that his mission had legal support since the
decision to organize the self-defense militia was based on authorization
from the Santa Cruz Council. Rozsa also revealed that his mission was
financed by specific groups in Bolivia. Bolivian Government Minister,
Alfredo Rada explained that Rozsa knew he was coming to kill and could
die in the attempt, the calculation was a part of his logic. He came
here to develop violent, terrorist activities at odds with the law, he
remarked. Rada also told the newspaper that this Wednesday after
concluding one of the cabinet’s meetings those involved in the funding
of Rozsa will be announced.
Major Johnny Aguilera confirmed that all of those involved in the
case live in Santa Cruz and will be summoned by the prosecutors office.
Meanwhile Bolivian Vice President, Alvaro Garcia, called on the people
to unite against terrorism, in the wake of new evidence of violent,
seditious activities of an international network of extremists, recently
dismantled in Santa Cruz.
Our homeland is in danger, therefore, the government and all the
citizens, no matter their origin, must unite to face it, he warned in a
press conference held at the Quemado Palace on Wednesday.
According to Garcia, Eduardo Rozsa, one of the members of the
dismantled group, revealed before coming to Bolivia his intention to
wage an armed struggle until the independence of the Santa Cruz
department was achieved. La Paz, Prensa Latina |
