Remembering chief incumbent

A ceremony to commemorate three months of passing away of the chief incumbent of Selatharama Maha Viharaya Ukgalboda, Kalutara and Mahanayake of the Amarapura Ariyawansa Sadhammayukthika Chapter Most Ven Bellana Premanandabhidhana Thera will be held on April 26 and 27 at the temple.

A special Dhamma will be delivered by Ven. Kolonnawe Sri Sumangala Thera on April 26 at 7.00 p.m followed by an alms giving to a 100 of Buddhist monks.


No leader after V. Prabhakran?

In an interview with Al Jazeera, Narayan Swami from New Delhi named as a Sri Lanka commentator and writer, says - that after V. Prabhakaran there will be no leader to lead a military struggle which had so much violence, so many killings and death.

There will not be many takers to that kind of a struggle anymore.

However Sri Lanka's position is that all Tamils in Sri Lanka are not in the LTTE or LTTE supporters and Prabhakaran is not the sole leader of the Tamil community of Sri Lanka - Lankapuvath

Training workshop

A 10-day training workshop program on self and institutional discipline and leadership for 220 new entrants to the Sri Lanka Educational Administrative Service organised by the National Cadet Corps under the guidance of the Education Minister will be held from April 20 to 30 at the Training Centre of the National Cadet Corps, Rantambe.
