JHU pinpoints hypocrisy of West

America and its Western allies should stop its hypocrisy of championing the cause of eradicating global terrorism, said Jathika Hela Urumaya (JHU) Leader Ven. Ellawala Medhananda Thera. The Thera added that a full and impartial investigation should be carried out on the recent attack on Sri Lanka Embassy in Norway which was well-planned.

The Norway Government cannot evade responsibility by just apologizing and promising to pay compensation for the losses. He was addressing at a media conference in Colombo yesterday.

Ven Medhananda Thera recalled past incidents involving Norway such as its role in providing radio transmission equipment and other facilities to the LTTE while posing as peace facilitators.

The unnecessary interference by America and Britain in the internal activities of Sri Lanka were strongly condemned by the Thera who said that a conspiracy is being hatched to impose economic sanctions against Sri Lanka.

Addressing the media JHU Parliamentary Group Leader Ven. Athuraliye Rathana Thera hailed Army for liberating 100,000 innocent civilians from the grip of LTTE.

"The Sri Lanka Army acted patiently and intelligently in the humanitarian operation," Ven. Rathana Thera added. He also said that the world watched the rescue mission of the Sri Lanka Armed Forces with the aid of Satellite Technology. It was so useful to create a true picture of our forces in their minds

A memorandum was handed over to the Norway Embassy by the JHU condemning the attack on Lankan Embassy in Norway, the Thera said.

He thanked all friendly countries such as India, China and Iran for their support especially at this decisive moment in the country's history.
