CaFFE files petition on polling cards
The campaign for Free and Fair Elections (CaFFE) yesterday filed a
petition in the Colombo Appeal Court seeking a Court order preventing
voters who have received more than one poll card due to dual or multiple
registration in voter’s lists from casting their votes at the
forthcoming Western Provincial Council Elections more than once.
The petition filed in the name of CaFFE national organiser Rajith
Keerthi Tennakoon has cited Elections Commissioner Assistant Elections
Commissioners in the Colombo District and the Colombo District Returning
Officer as respondents. |
