We stand viable as ever with the support of the people who is our greatest asset and strength. We also have the strength and ability to pay back the loans we burrow. Following the victories achieved in North Western, Central and the Eastern Province, we are now awaiting the verdict of the Western Province to ascertain where we stand, President Mahinda Rajapaksa said. Addressing a ceremony organized by the Sri Lanka Nidahas Upadhidharinge Sangamaya of the Western Province, at Temple Trees yesterday.

President Rajapaksa pointed out that his Government was obtaining loans for development having the absolute ability of paying back the debts.

The world too has faith in the Government and they are willing to give. “Certain parties with vested interests are making unfounded allegations of humans rights violations and war crimes against me and the Defence Secretary.
