FCCISL coordinates participation to Kunming Trade Fair
The Kunming Import and Export International Trade Fair, one of the
largest trade fairs in the world will be held in Kunming Province, China
from June 5-10.
The Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL)
signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2006 with the China
Council for Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the organizers of
the Trade Fair, bringing inestimable opportunity to the Sri Lankan
business community by way of free stalls for selected Small and Medium
Enterprises and concessionary terms for others.
FCCISL which won the first prize for 'Organization' at the Kunming
Trade Fair in 2007 is coordinating the Sri Lankan trade participation
for the Chinese Trade Fair.
More than 48 countries including, Australia, New Zealand, Papua New
Guinea, Russia, South Asian countries and some European countries are
expected to take part and would exhibit and sell their products at this
Fair.
The exhibitors of products and services at the Kunming Fair have the
advantage of entering the massive Chinese market and to markets 48 other
countries.
The participants would have the opportunity to select products of
other countries to be imported to Sri Lanka. They are also permitted to
sell on the spot, while there is no product limitation.
The product range for Sri Lankan entrepreneurs participating in the
Kunming Fair would be tea, gems and jewellery, spice, handlooms,
furniture, porcelain, coco peat, coir based products, coconut based
products, arrack, coconut oil, garments, ayurvedic and herbal products,
cosmetics, art and craft, gift items, jams and cordials, paints, motor
spare parts and services such as tourism, investments, insurance and
financial etc. |
