Missing children’s bodies found

Kasun

Thanuja

Akmeemana Police have recovered the bodies of the two children who had been missing since April 15.

Thanuja Airanganee, 10, a grade 6 student of Bataduwa Ratnajothi Vidyalaya and Kasun Rasmika, two years and eight months had gone to collect a tri-cycle belonging to the boy, 200 yards away from their house when they were allegedly abducted by unknown persons.

Their parents had informed police about their missing children when they failed to return home.

Akmeemana Police on Saturday recovered the body of the girl from the pit in a neighbour’s land while the boy’s body was found in a shrub jungle yesterday.

No suspects have been arrested.
