Massive stocks of hidden military hardware uncovered

Troops conducting search operations at various locations within the newly liberated areas of Mullaitivu has uncovered massive stocks of hidden military hardware, including aircraft bombs, suicide kits, 130 mm artillery rounds high explosives etc.

From Mudaliyarukulam area in Mullaitivu, troops have recovered eight light aircraft bombs and 650 rounds of T-56 magazines.

In the Ampakamam area, the Security Forces have found one 81 mm high explosive bomb, two T-56 magazines, one 12.7 mm gun mount and 406 rounds of T-56 ammunition.

Meanwhile in Pudumattalan, Mullaitivu, troops have uncovered a large stock of military items including 10, 130 mm artillery rounds, 30 T-56 assault rifles, two claymore bombs, three suicide kits, 14 60 mm high explosive bombs, 23 RPG bombs, 490,000 rounds of 5.56 x 46 ammunition, 11 IED’s, 07 electric mines etc.

In addition, 52 Division troops during a search operation in Miriyankadu, Jaffna recovered five kg claymore mines.
