Ottawa Citizen Editorial condemns street protests

David B. Harris, a reputed International terrorism expert and lawyer writing in the Ottawa Citizen said by freely allowing Ottawa streets to be used illegally by a banned terrorist organization like the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) officials could increasingly be tempted to profit politically from appeasing dangerous, but influential, groups in Canada at the cost of Canadian national interests. The editorial published with a photograph showing how an Ottawa street was blocked by the LTTE terrorists asked. "Where does the money for staging such protests come from? The same place you go to finance suicide vests?"

The editorial warned thus: "In the meantime, we must remember that our behaviour in such matters is studied carefully by Hamas, Hezbollah, al-Qaeda and other extremist groups that target Canada and the West.

They take a professional interest in knowing which cities conduct themselves like soft targets."
