Additional buses for Avurudhu returnees

Over 500 Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) buses will be in operation until April 19 to transport those returning home after the New Year.

"No serious complains had been received so far over difficulties faced by passengers due to the lack of buses," a Transport Board official added.

Meanwhile the official said stern action had been taken in respect of over charging by bus crew during the festive season.

On the cancellation of several trains from the normal timetable, Ministry sources said all such instances were notified to public before hand. The Ministry appealed to public to be vigilant while traveling in buses during rush hours due to the prevailing security climate.
