Silva, Ekanayake win against Laos

The Sri Lanka's team Dhammika Silva and Pubudu Ekanayake that was placed fifth at the Asian Beach Volleyball Tour in Patthulung and ninth in Khanom and had mixed fortunes when losing to India and Philippines but won against Laos.

The B team A Wasantha Ratnapala and Mahesh Pererqa defeated Bangladesh on the second day of the final stage of the Tour in Songkhla Beach, in the Southern Part of Thailand.

The women's team too lost their game to host Thailand two sets to nil (21-7, 21-13) Sri Lanka B team has the chance of A entering the last sixteen with their win and as they can overcome the two games left for them in group E. The duo went thrash the Bangladeshis comprehensively 2-0 (21-7, 21 18).

The Bangladehi spikers did not have any answer to their opponents in the first set but fought back to go past the double figure mark before losing this set scoring 18 points.

Dhammika Silva's Injury which he sustained during the first stage in Khanom is causing him problems to support his partner in his best capacity. This was the main reason for loss against the Indians.

According to the Manager and the coach the men Beach Volleyballers are in good shape improving game by game but the most unfortunate is the injury to their best player Dhammika.

They said though he is suffering from this injury he gives his best possible support forgetting this set back.
