Disaster Management scheme to protect hospital system

The Health Care and Nutrition Ministry will formulate a disaster management scheme to protect the hospital system as part of the World Health Day program on April 7.

Health Care and Nutrition Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva disclosed this at the seminar held in connection with the forthcoming World Health Day celebrations recently.

Earlier Disaster management programs were focused on the protection of community life only. Minister de Silva said the theme for this years world Health Day introduced by WHO is "Preparation to safeguard a hospital in times of a disaster, Disasters caused by climate change cause an impart on health.

An Environment has been caused where diseases like Malaria and dengue had shown signs of spreading in areas hitherto unaffected by these epidemics.
