Ranga Bera Mihira at Lionel Wendt
Ranga Bera Mihira, an evening of traditional drums, presented by
veteran drummer and dancer Prasantha Rupathilake and his students of
“Prasantha Roo” dance and drum institute will be staged at Lionel Wendt
Theatre on April 7 at 6.30 p.m.
This gala of drumming and dance will present intricate patterns of
traditional Sri Lankan drums and it will also introduce the drum
compositions based on newly created Kaala Beraya (the drum of time).
Ranga Bera Mihira is a presentation of Prasantha Roo institute of dance.

Adapiyasariya the maiden collection of poetry by the young poet
Premarathna Thennakone will be launched at the John de Silva Theatre on
April 7 at 3 p.m. A critical discourse on the topic “Poetry, poet and
society” will be conducted by poet Rathna Sri Wijesinghe, translator
Chulananda Samaranayake and Pubudu Jayagoda.
R.P. Wijesinghe’s Vanagatha Mandiraye Badukariya was launched at
Dayanwansa Jayakody Book Exhibition Hall, Colombo 10, on March 31. The
book is the authentic Sinhala translation of Anne Bronte’s ‘The Tenant
of Wildfell Hall’.
