Meelad un Nabi
The Board of Management of the Battaramulla Jumma Mosque has
organised Meelad un Nabi celebration on Sunday at 9.30 a.m. at the
mosque.
It will be held under the patronage of Ash Sheik Al Haj Refai Moulana
Ashiq Thangal. Mowlood, Bayan and Halara Majlis will also be held.
Prominent Ulamas including chief imam of the Colombo Grand Mosque and
foreign quaries will grace the ceremony.
Website launch
The Sailan Muslim Foundation will Launch its website on Sunday at
4.00 p.m. at the Orchard Building, Wellawatte, Colombo. Shikamani Z.A.M.
Refai will launch the website.
Investiture of prefects
The firstever investiture of prefects of the Sri Punnasara English
Medium Dhamma School of Galle, will be held on Sunday commencing at 8
a.m. at the Main Hall of Vidyaloka Maha Pirivena of Galle under the
patronage of Galle High Court Judge Chandrasena Rajapaksa.
AGM
The Annual General Meeting of School Development Society of
President’s College, Kotte will be held on Sunday at 8.30 a.m. at the
College Auditorium.
Pinkamas for Nayaka Thera
A series of Pinkamas will be held at the Matara Polhena Purana
Viharaya from April 4 in memory of Ven. Athuraliye Indrarathana Nayaka
Thera who passed away seven years ago.
New year celebrations in Badulla
The Sinhala and Hindu New Year Festival jointly organised by the 'Nimal
Siripala de Silva Foundation' and Badulla MC, sponsored by the 'Viva
Shakthi Program' will be held on April 19 at the Vincent Dias Stadium,
Badulla.
All cyclists in the Badulla district can be participated in the cycle
race (male) which will start at 7 a.m. near the Uva Provincial Council
building, covering 80 kms.
It will end at the public library premises near the public esplanade.
The proposed route is Badulla, Welimada, Bandarawela and Badulla. The
marathon (male and female) will commence at 8 a.m. opposite the Uva PC
building. It will end at the public library premises, Badulla.
Prophet's birthday celebration
The 56th Annual Meelad-un-Nabi Celebrations of the Moors' Islamic
Cultural Home will be held on April 4 at MICH Reception hall "Her
Highness Sheika Fatima Building 7 Lily Avenue, Wellawatte Colombo 6.
The proceedings will commence with the recital of Mowlood followed by
the prize-giving.
Cash prizes and awards will be distributed to winners for juniors and
seniors in Oratory and Calligraphy.
High Commissioner of Malaysia in Sri Lanka Rosli Ismail will be the
Chief Guest. MICH President Omar Kamil will preside.
New Year celebration
The teachers and students from pre-primary section of Kingston
College International (Mutwal branch) will hold its New Year
celebrations on April 4 at 9 a.m. Lion Dr. T. Kumaraverl, Chairman of
Kingston College International will preside.
Public lecture
Dr. Ranjana Piyadasa (Department of Geography, University of Colombo)
will give a public lecture on 'Environmental Impact due to
Indiscriminate Extraction of River Sand in Sri Lanka' on April 8 at 5
p.m. at the SLAAS auditorium, 120/10, Vidya Mawatha (off Wijerama
Mawatha), Colombo 7.
Ranaviru Upahara Ulela
A Ranaviru Upahara Ulela organised by the Victoria International
College, Kiribathgoda, Kelaniya will be held on April 8 at 9.00 a.m. at
the College Auditorium.
ROCOHA AGM
The Annual General Meeting of the Royal College Old Hostellers'
Association (ROCOHA) will be held at the Organization of Professional
Associations, 275/75, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 7 today.
The Annual General Meeting will be followed by a fellowship dinner.
