Project to develop 31 rural roads

The Hakmana Pradeshiya Sabha has taken measures to develop 31 rural roads in the Hakmana area under the "Maga Neguma" development project.

The Ministry of Road Development has voted Rs. 20.5 million for this project.

Out of the total amount of the allocations Rs. 10.5 million would be utilised for the development of 21 roads and the balance to improve 10 rural roads. Over 10,000 rural families in Wepathaira, Meekandahena, Ellewela, Siddahena, Rangoda, Peraketiyawatta, Narawelpita, Walasgalahena, Koonketiya, Kongala, Katu-Imbuldeniya watta and Kandegoda areas would be benefitted with the completion of this road development project the Chairman, Hakmana Pradeshiya Sabha C.H. Halpage told the Daily News.
