Japanese scholarships for Lankan students
The Japanese Government has awarded higher education scholarships to
13 Sri Lankan students under its Monbukagakusho Scholarship Scheme.
These scholarships were awarded under the categories of post
graduate, undergraduate and college of technology. Selection of
candidates was done through an examination and interview conducted
jointly by the Japanese Embassy and the Higher Education Ministry.
An orientation program was held for the selected students at the
Japanese Embassy recently presided over by Kaoru Shimazaki, Charge de
Affaires of the Embassy with the participation of past student and
member of the Japanese Graduates Alumni Association of Sri Lanka (JAGAAS)Lolitha
Wickremasinghe and Monbukagakusho student at the Tokyo Metropolitan
University Eranga de Alwis.
The Japanese Government provides international students around the
world with an opportunity of pursuing higher studies in Japanese
universities and colleges under the Monbukagakusho scholarship scheme
annually. |
