Power along Mankulam road

The CEB has restored electricity supply along the Mankulam road covering a distance of 35 km from Omana to Mankulam under the Power and Energy Ministry’s Uthuru Wasanthaya program to restore transmission lines, transformers and grid sub stations destroyed by LTTE terrorists.

This project had cost Rs. 10 million, a Power and Energy Ministry press release said.

The release said another power project costing Rs. 6 million was completed to provide electricity to Menikfarm and adjoining areas while the Padaviya hospital has been provided electricity at a cost of Rs. 5 million.

The 36 megawatt power station coming up at Chunnakkam to provide uninterrupted electricity supplies to over 600,000 residents in Jaffna would be completed before the end of this month.
