Regulations on current international commercial transactions

The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) will hold a seminar on "Current international commercial transactions" tomorrow from 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. at the Chamber Auditorium.

It is organized by the National Chamber in association with the Department of Import Export Control and the Department of Exchange Control to enlighten the business community about the current laws and regulations applicable to imports and exports and exchange control regulations.

The business community at times faces difficulties in their international business transactions due to lack of knowledge on the regulations on imports, exports and exchange control.

The main speakers at the seminar will be Kapila G. Weerakoon Asst. Controller of Exchange, Central Bank of Sri Lanka and W.A.M. Malkanthi, Asst. Controller of Imports and Exports of the Department of Imports and Exports Control.

Another important area that will be discussed is exchange control requirements on freight forwarders.

The seminar is targeted at those engaged in import and export of goods and services, consultants, shippers, freight forwarders and bankers.
