Regulations on current international commercial transactions
The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) will hold a
seminar on "Current international commercial transactions" tomorrow from
2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. at the Chamber Auditorium.
It is organized by the National Chamber in association with the
Department of Import Export Control and the Department of Exchange
Control to enlighten the business community about the current laws and
regulations applicable to imports and exports and exchange control
regulations.
The business community at times faces difficulties in their
international business transactions due to lack of knowledge on the
regulations on imports, exports and exchange control.
The main speakers at the seminar will be Kapila G. Weerakoon Asst.
Controller of Exchange, Central Bank of Sri Lanka and W.A.M. Malkanthi,
Asst. Controller of Imports and Exports of the Department of Imports and
Exports Control.
Another important area that will be discussed is exchange control
requirements on freight forwarders.
The seminar is targeted at those engaged in import and export of
goods and services, consultants, shippers, freight forwarders and
bankers.
