Two leading Catholic schools in the Puttalam district Joseph Vaz College Wennappuwa and St. Xavier's College Marawila will meet in their inaugural cricket big match on March 27 (Friday) at Joseph Vaz College Grounds, Wennappuwa.

Kashapa Devinda will lead Joseph Vaz while Shehan Hirudika will captain St. Xavier's College. The inaugural match is a part of Joseph Vaz College's diamond jubilee celebrations this year and it will be a 50 overs game.

According to the organisers it will be an annual encounter played on the home and away basis. Rev. Father Sylvester Jayakody, Principal of Joseph Vaz College, said the big match will give a golden opportunity for the students of two neighbouring colleges to mingle with one another.

However he said they need to maintain right discipline at all times.
