Pakistan's probe Report suggests to arrest three police officers
An investigation report on the attack of Sri Lankan cricket team has
recommended arresting three police officers for committing criminal
negligence, local media reported on Wednesday.
The investigation report has shown that the security lapses are to
blame for the attack on Sri Lankan cricket teams in eastern Pakistan,
the English-language Dawn newspaper said.
The report said a "complete security lapse" gave the 12 terrorists a
free hand to carry out their mission as police did not reach the scene
for at least half an hour, the newspaper said.
At least seven people, including five policemen, were killed and 19
others, including seven Sri Lankan cricket players, were injured in the
terrorist attack in eastern Pakistan's city of Lahore on March 3.
Pakistan police have so far failed to arrest any of the attackers.
Only some who had allegedly helped the terrorists were detained.
