TNA responds to President's invitation

The Tamil National Alliance has written to President Mahinda Rajapaksa in response to the invitation extended to them for talks on the political situation. The TNA while thanking the President for the invitation and the desire of the President to seek a dialogue with them, however, has said that any political discussion should follow the resolution of what they identified as a humanitarian crisis.

They have also stated that they will extend their cooperation "to any credible political process that seeks to evolve on adequate, acceptable and durable solution to the Tamil problem."
