Valaichchenai Paper Mill to roll again

The Valaichchenai Paper Mills Corporation which was revitalised last year after long years of disuse will resume full production by next week, National Paper Corporation General Manager Victor Abeysinghe said. New production will commence by using a bio-mass boiler in place of the furnace oil used earlier at exorbitant cost, the General Manager said.

He further added that the new technology would involve the use of paddy husk which will result in the Corporation saving nearly six million rupees every month. Arrangements have been made to introduce the same bio-mass technology at the Embilipitiya Paper Mills by the end of the year, National Paper Mill sources revealed.
