Young heroin dealer nabbed

Katugastota police arrested a heroin dealer who ran the illicit trade from the money obtained by selling the valuables worth Rs. 800,000 of his home after chasing away his mother and sister from their residence.

Police also seized several household items along with five packets of heroin at the time the suspect was arrested at Bahirawakanda area in Kandy yesterday.

This suspect said to be an old boy of a leading school in Kandy is also alleged to have been involved in several thefts in Kandy town where women were relieved of their jewellery in the past. Katugastota police is continuing further investigation into these incidents.
