Russia, Germany hold crisis talks
Russia Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will hold talks on the
global economic crisis next week with German Chancellor Angela Merkel
ahead of the G20 summit, the Kremlin said on Wednesday. Medvedev will
visit Germany on Tuesday in advance of the April 2 Group of 20 meeting
in London, the statement said.
Germany is a key economic partner for Russia in Europe and has
relatively friendly political relations with Moscow. Ahead of the G20
summit, Medvedev has put forward a series of proposals for reforming the
world's financial architecture, including the introduction of a
supra-national currency.
