This is considered the most opportune time for the purpose, since
students who sat the GCE Ordinary Level and Advanced Level examinations
are trying to select a suitable line of study which would guide their
future on the proper path.
The ADYAPANA Exhibition not only helps the students and parents to
take the correct decision at the most crucial turning point in a
student's life, but also makes it easier and rational to do so, a media
release said.
ADYAPANA 2009 provides the best opportunity for educational
institutions in the private sector local and international and
prospective students to meet under one roof, and have a wide and open
dialogue. Growing from strength to strength during the last three years,
the ADYAPANA platform attracts over 150 stalls, including those from
world renowned educational institutions in the UK, Australia, Malaysia,
Singapore, India, UAE and Nepal.
This exhibition will present a vast variety of career courses and
course requirements ranging from undergraduate studies and post-graduate
studies to vocational training and skills development, engaged in the
teaching of Business, Finance, Marketing, Airlines, Secretarial,
Computer, Medical and Nursing, Aviation and Maritime, Architecture, and
Hotel Management.
Out of around 150,000 students who get through the Advanced Level
examination annually, only 10 per cent get the opportunity of entering
the traditional universities in the country. Apart from that, the
traditional universities do not possess the capacity to cater to certain
areas of the corporate sector and social requirements. Therefore,
private participation in the education field has become indispensable
and LECS who organized this exhibition consider the event not only as a
business venture, but also as a service to society.
The Exhibition will concurrently feature 'The Voice of Sri Lanka'
debating competition and seminars for school-leavers, the release said. |
