Sri Lanka medium-pacer Nuwan Kulasekara has been picked' ICC one day
international' bowler with 724 points and has moved to the top of the
bowlers ranking ahead of Australia's Nathan Bracken.
Master spinner Muttiah Muralidaran is in fourth place with 696
points. There were only four Asians in the list of Top-Ten ODI Bowlers.
Shakib Al Hasan (Ban) sixth, and Mashrafe Mortaza (Ban) eighth.
Kulasekera, the 26 year old right-arm fast - medium bowler was born
in Nittambuwa. He has played 52 One-Day internationals and captured 64
wickets Ave (26.79). He also played 6 test matches and bagged 5 wickets
(88.00) Kulasekara also impressed with the bat at No 8. In the past 12
months be claimed 47 wickets at an average 20.97 in 29 ODI matches.
With a strike-rate of 28.00 and economy rate of 4.45 his best one-day
performance is 4 wickets 40 runs against India in Colombo in
2008.Australia's Nathan Bracken is second with 700 points. Bracken was
selected Australias ODI player of the year after taking 22 wickets at
24.50 rate of 4.09 from 16 ODI's.
