Baby needs help
One-year-old Dithira Geemeth born with a hearing impairment needs a
cochlear implant.
According to Dr. Dinesh Murmu, ENT Surgeon who examined Dithira, the
cochlear implant will have to be performed immediately. The estimated
cost is around Rs. 1.9 million to 2.9 million, depending on the model of
the cochlear.
D. P. A. R. Wasantha Kumara, father of the baby seeks help for this
operation. Financial contributions can be credited to the Bank of Ceylon
(Biyagama) A/C No. 8937348.

Krishnamurti talk
A recorded public talk on “Intelligence, love, and compassion”
delivered by the late Indian sage J. Krishnamurti will be replayed at
Anula Nursery School hall 310, High Level Road, Colombo 6 at 9.45 am on
Sunday, March 22. The event is organised by the Krishnamurti Centre, Sri
Lanka Inc.
Ayurveda centre in sick state

There is an acute shortage of drugs at Ayurvedic centres in the
Walallavita Divisional Secretariat Division.
People of difficult areas come to the ayurvedic centres for
consultation daily but the present predicament in the centres double
their misery. Two ayurvedic doctors are attached to these centres.
Walallavita Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman said under the Village Development
program, two libraries and two ayurvedic centres were opened for the
benefit of the people of Pelawatta and Walallavita areas.
“We look into the problems of these ayurvedic centres, but we are
constrained to attend to it until we receive financial aid,” he said.
Brass Band Show
Holy Cross College, Gampaha will host a Brass Band Show titled
‘Interact Band Fiesta’ at 6.00 p.m. on March 21 at the College grounds.
Many schools from Gampaha and other parts of the country will
participate in this show.

Shelter for low income families

Industrial Development Minister Kumara Welgama has formulated a
project to construct 52 houses for low income group families at
Pallegoda, Megama, Matugama.
Rs. 3.61 million will be allocated for the project from funds granted
by Emirate Arab Institute.
The construction work of the houses has already been inaugurated.
Blood donation campaign
The Old Boys Association of Asoka Vidyalaya, has organised a blood
donation campaign to be held on March 19, 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. at
school auditorium.
‘Rajans Walk’ postponed
The ‘Rajans Walk’, organised by the Dharmaraja College Old Boys
Union, Kandy scheduled to be held on March 21, from Getambe to the
College premies at 9 a.m., has been postponed due to unavoidable
