No room for international conspiracies - Artistes' Forum

President Mahinda Rajapaksa has achieved many victories in the warfront because of his implementation of the agenda without succumbing to international conspiracies, President of the Forum of Artistes for the Country, Senaka Wijesinghe said.

President Rajapaksa has maintained good relationship with the international community.

We found this in our discussions with them in the recent past, he said at a media conference held at Sudarshee Hall, Colombo on Monday.

"There are moves by international forces to reverse our war victories. They are working secretly against our military advances. We must be very cautious of the outcome of these sinister moves," he said.

Even the editorials written by alternative newspapers holding a brief for INGO's have expressed opinions favourable to war efforts.

"We as artistes sensitive to the problems wish for the freedom of all communities in the North and South.

This freedom can only be adviced through the President. Therefore, everyone should support President in his sincere efforts," Wijesinghe said.

Member of the Forum and Western Provincial Council candidate Sanjaya Leelaratne said this war continued for over 30 years due to unthoughtful acts of certain political leaders in the country.

The President is the only national leader who wants to bring about real peace and emancipation for all the people in the country, he said.

Artistes comprising Sandun Wijesiri, Chinthaka Kulathunge, Niroshan Ileperuma, Buddhi Wickrama, Palitha Silva, Damayantha Perera, Rohan Weliwita, Jeevani Nirupa, Manisha Namal and Ranjith Rubasinghe were also present.
