Fully recovered Ajantha leaves hospital

Spinner Ajantha Mendis was yesterday discharged from hospital after having fully recovered from his minor injuries sustained during the Lahore attack two weeks ago.

However Ajantha has been asked to rest for a few more days. Speaking after leaving the hospital Mendis said that he is glad to be going home and also thankful to God for protecting the entire team at that difficult time. "My thanks go out to everybody who helped us.

The medical staff both in Pakistan and Sri Lanka as well as the officials from Sri Lanka Cricket and the Sports Ministry and His Excellency the President and the Cabinet of Ministers for the way they helped us to overcome this difficult situation"

Mendis also stated that he will not forget all his fans for their wishes and prayers which was naturally a great blessing to the entire team.
