Myanmar supports Lanka's fight against terrorism

"We support Sri Lanka's effort in combatting terrorism. Myanmar
always opposed terrorism and we oppose any kind of terrorism, visiting
foreign Minister of Myanmar Nyan Win said in Colombo yesterday (16).
"In addition to our mutual ties that go back several centuries, we
are looking forward to participate at the BIMSTEC meeting to be held in
May and our countries would be able to work together he said addressing
the media at the ministry of Foreign Affairs, Colombo," Nyan Win said.
"Myanmar and Sri Lanka has had historical ties and have stood by each
other in countering terrorism. We are grateful to the government of
Myanmar for the support given to us," he said.
"We are working in the global arena as partners sharing multifaceted
areas of interests as members of the Asian Region Forum, BIMSTEC and
other international fora and areas," he said.
Minister Bogollagama also said he wished to thank the Government of
Myanmar for having gifted two tuskers to the Sri Dalada Maligawa and
gifting another tusker to Raja Maha Viharaya in Kotte. |
