CID allowed to detain suspect

The Colombo Fort Magistrate and Additional District Judge Gihan Pilapitiya yesterday allowed an application by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to detain a suspect who was taken into custody in connection with assisting suicide bombers.

Allowing the CID application to detain the suspect the Judge directed the CID to submit a comprehensive report in connection with their ongoing investigations to court on the next date.
