SAARC Secy Gen here for Ministers' meeting

Secretary General of SAARC Dr. Sheel Kant Sharma will attend the Conference of SAARC Higher Education Ministers to be held from March 26-27 at Hilton Hotel, Colombo.

According to Higher Education Ministry sources, the conference will open a new chapter in the relations between SAARC countries as Higher Education Minister Professor Viswa Warnapala will submit a concept paper on higher education to be implemented within the SAARC region which commands a population of 1.5 billion.

The SAARC Secretariat which is based in Katmandu , Nepal is headed by the Secretary General, who is appointed by council of Ministers from member countries for a three year period.
