Sri Lanka Institute of Printing (SLIOP) was established in the year 1984 by an act of Parliament under the Ministry of Mass Media and Information and is the pioneering professional body in the industry, dedicated to advancing of knowledge, skills and expertise in the industry.

SLIOP provides training for around 1000 students per annum and most of them find employment in the industry. This is the only institute, which can award high academic qualification and professional membership for Graphic Arts Professionals in Sri Lanka.

The Advanced Diploma in Printing Technology & Management and Advanced Diploma in Visual Communication & Management Programmes awarded by SLIOP are well recognised qualifications in Graphic Arts Industry in Sri Lanka.

The Diploma holders of SLIOP are in high-level positions in the industry today. Presently these Advanced Diplomas are conducted in collaboration with the University of Colombo.

Having obtained the Diplomas from SLIOP the Graphic Arts professionals in Sri Lanka now can pursue higher studies in MBA at University of Colombo. The Advanced Diploma Course in Visual Communications & Management conducted in collaboration with the University of Colombo is designed for those in Graphics, Multimedia and Advertising industries in Sri Lanka.

The SLIOP is the ideal place for school leavers to chart their future career development in the ever-developing print, graphics and digital media industry.

The SLIOP has made a remarkable progress during the past decade by meeting the demands of the industry to a great extent while keeping pace with the modern technological developments in the world.

SLIOP offers Courses from Certificate level to Advanced Diploma level covering all the aspects in Printing, Graphics & Digital Media technologies.

It offers courses at a very nominal fee to encourage the rural participation and lower level income groups.

The courses mentioned below conducted by the Institute will provide the required qualifications for corresponding employment opportunities in the

Print & Graphic Industry in Sri Lanka and abroad.
