Seminar on role of human resources
The Association for International Standards with the Ceylon Chamber
of Commerce in their continuing effort to promote best practices amongst
the business community will conduct a seminar on "The Role of Human
Resources in Lean Transformation" on March 17 at the Hotel Galadari.
Companies have begun to understand that lean is more than 5-S and
U-shaped cells. It is also about people, culture, and leadership.
However, Human Resource (HR) departments seldom seem to take an active
role in lean transformations. How can companies and their HR departments
better engage the full human potential of lean?
The main objectives of the seminar are to: Enhance the knowledge of
HR heads on Lean principals, tools and lean culture, Make Manufacturing
Heads, Production/Plant Managers understand about human side of lean
transformation and how to handle a transformation process without fail,
to emphasize the fact on the importance of building the right management
infrastructure, lean mind set and behaviour in order to support lean
transformation.
The seminar will be conducted by a JIPM (Japan Institute of Plant
Maintenance) accredited TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) Instructor
specialized in Japanese Management Style Thilak Pushpakumara. He had
been trained in Japan on TPM, TPS, TQM and Company Wide Problem Solving.
He is a certified trainer on gaining change skills by Spencer Johnson's
