AMW launches new concept in leasing

Associated Motorways PLC has introduced a new concept in leasing in introducing this concept of 'Buy a Suzuki M800 today and pay nothing for six months'.

Asst. General Manager, Virann de Zoysa said that 'There are over 25,000 Maruti Suzukis' on Sri Lanka's roads and in celebration of this achievement, they have come forward with this new concept to assist the public.

Accordingly, one could make a reasonable initial payment and drive away with a brand new Maruti and start paying the instalments after six months, he said. The facility to purchase, a brand new M800 from any of AMW's showrooms in Sri Lanka, not only enables to pay the lease instalments after six months but also to be a recipient of other benefits. Whilst the Suzuki M800 manufactured under superior Japanese technology, occupies a special place in the Suzuki Maruti range a recent introduction to its range has been the Suzuki M800 Ultimate with its modern new look.

Due to the demand for this product, AMW has geared itself to meet this eventuality by upgrading their outlets. Nations Trust Bank together with AMW Leasing Ltd will further enhance the benefits to the public.

The offer of 'Buy a Suzuki M800 today and pay nothing for six months' will be available till March 31.

AMW's new Yamaha FZ 16

Associated Motorways Limited with a delegation from Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd, Japan and Yamaha Motor India (Pvt) Ltd, launched the Yamaha FZ 16 to the Sri Lankan market.

The Yamaha FZ 16, a stylish and powerful motor-cycle was entirely designed and tested by Yamaha motor Company Japan and built to meet international standards, The FZ 16 is also the winner of several awards such as UTVi and Autocar India awards 2009, FZ 16 bike of the year, Zig Wheels 2009, FZ 16 bike of the year Business standard Motoring 2009, FZ 16 Viewers Choice Award, UTVi and Autocar India awards 2009, Yamaha-Excellence in quality styling and success in Motorsports and Apollo tires and Auto India best brand awards 2009. Head of Export - IYM Rick Ota and Head of Marketing Administration Yamada from Yamaha Motor India (Pvt) Ltd. and Senior Supervisor Inouey from Yamaha Motor Co. Ltd. Japan, were present at the launch.

Sixteen new cars to be launched:

Chery implements multi-brand strategy

From 2009, brand diversification has become a crucial strategy for Chery.

Chery's four sales departments, Chery Sales Company, Qilin Sales Company, Karry Sales Company and Chery International will work together to shoulder the task of selling 16 new models scheduled to be launched this year.

On January 6, the Chery A3 hatchback was launched. President and General Manager of Chery Yin Tongyue, said that the Chery A3 hatchback is the first new car model included in the 16 new models to be launched in 2009. A3 is the first Chinese car to win the C-NCAP five-star award. Its debut laid a solid foundation for Chery's expansion in 2009.

Chery's three new brands, Karry, Riich and Rely, will be launched this year. The Chery fleet will comprise Karry, Riich, Rely and Chery, which are categorized into mini-van, commercial vehicle, premium car and economy car.

Starting from 2009, to strengthen the supply chain management and internal management, Chery will reduce waste, lower costs and improve efficiencies and benefits from technique, logistics, business and management. The international intensive management mode will be adopted by Chery.

Yin Tongyue said that sales volume is a top priority in 2009. By 2008, Chery had already set up eight overseas plants and had been the national export champion for six consecutive years. Great efforts are made by Chery to build on the "Chinese indigenous international brand" theme.


Unimo Enterprises unveils

Unimo Enterprises Limited a fully owned subsidiary of United Motors Lanka PLC unveiled its latest range of Apollo tyres at a function held at Galle Face Hotel Colombo.

Unimo initially marketed the Passenger Car Range (PCR) of Apollo tyres which was launched in mid 2007. The company was one of the first companies to successfully market an Indian origin passenger car radials and over a short period has been able to represent a considerable market share while also gaining market acceptance in its segment.

Unimo Enterprises Limited is now on behalf of Apollo Tyre India marketing the entire range of tyres which range from passenger car, truck and bus to farm tyres enabling dealers and customers to have a greater variety.

Unimo is one of the first distributors to launch the new Apollo Tyre logo.


Toyota Lanka partners Hino

Toyota Lanka, the sole distributors for Toyota motor vehicles in Sri Lanka, entered the local truck market with the launch of HINO trucks.

Hino Motors, a globally renowned brand in design excellence and superior engineering in the truck market, is a subsidiary of the Toyota Motor Corporation Japan and has a presence across markets in the Americas, Africa, Europe, Asia and Australia.

Designed and manufactured in Japan, Hino trucks are renowned for their fuel efficiency, superior comfort, specialized safety features and adherence to global environment standards. Toyota Lanka, who has been appointed the sole distributor for "Hino" trucks, would be introducing light (300 series) and medium (500 series) duty trucks. The HINO 300 series delivers low emission levels and environmental compliance in addition to superior economic efficiency through reduced fuel consumption, while the HINO 500 series delivers a broad range of benefits including excellent environment-friendliness, economic efficiency, superior driving performance that contributes to excellent operation rates and loading capacity that improves the quality of transportation operations. Toyota Lanka plans to introduce heavy duty 700 series trucks in the future.
