JVP gets phobia again

Media Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena yesterday refuted the JVP
allegation that India is trying to exploit mineral deposits in Pulmudai
under the pretext of setting up a mobile hospital for IDPs there.
The Minister categorically denied such a move by India and said the
JVP was having the same phobia when the IPKF came to Sri Lanka.
"It is the JVP's nature throughout its history to arrive at
preconclusions. This fear psychosis existed when the IPKF came to Sri
Lanka too, the Minister said.
The Minister also said TMVP leader Vinayargamoorthi Muralitharan's
entry to the Sri Lanka Freedom Party invalidates the Opposition's view
that minorities are not welcomed in the UPFA.
The Opposition charged the Government of being unable to accommodate
representation from the minority communities. The TMVP Leader's entry to
the SLFP with more than 3000 supporters is an unique event which
debunked this view, the Minister said.
