Top Tiger killed

Sabaratnam Selvathurai alias Ranjith Appa alias Thamilendri, the Head of the LTTE Financial Division has been killed in a Security Forces artillery attack directed to Puthukudiyiruppu believed to be on Monday or Tuesday, Military sources confirmed yesterday.

Ceylinco Chief refused bail

Mount Lavinia Chief Magistrate and Additional District Judge Harsha Sethunga yesterday refused several applications for bail in respect of Ceylinco Chairman Lalith Kothalawala and other suspects who had been remanded in connection with the Golden Key Credit Card alleged fraud and remanded them till March 26.

Dalada exposition extended by a day

The special public exposition of the Sacred Tooth Relic at the Sri Dalada Maligawa has been extended by another day till March 17 to cater to the large crowds visiting Kandy to pay homage, Diyawadana Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dela Bandara said. Earlier the exposition was due to conclude on March 16.
