ASP promotion interviews postponed
The National Police Commission has postponed the interviews for the
promotion of ASPs to the rank of SP Gr. II scheduled to be held this
week.
This decision was taken on account of claims made by some Police
officers in the rank of ASP, who had not been summoned for the interview
as they were not confirmed in the rank. They have appealed that they too
should be summoned for the interview after considering their appeals.
The Elections Commissioner has written to say that the National
Police Commission could hold the interviews during this period of
Western Provincial Council Election but that the results should be
released only after the conclusion of the election. The Commission does
not wish to hold interviews during the first week of March 2009 but
withhold the release of the results until end of April 2009. The
Commission considers it is prudent to hold the interviews after the
conclusion of the Western Provincial Council Election.
There has been a report that some candidates who are not qualified in
terms of the Schemes of Recruitment have been summoned for the
interviews and that the Commission has met the cost of air fares of
officers travelling from aborad. Both these are not correct. |
