Eksath Peramuna Leader Dinesh Gunawardane handed over a collection of
signatures to Cuban Ambassador in Sri Lanka Nirsia Castro Guevara,
during an education exhibition held on the theme "Seethawaka
Abimana-2009" at Narahenpita Sri Abhayarama Viharaya.
The Federation of All Ceylon Youth League played a key role in
collecting the signatures under the theme "Thousand signatures for
solidarity".
Guevara noted that the list of signatures handed over to her are the
expression of backing the Cuban determination to build a society based
on the principles of equity, justice, non discrimination and broad
participation of all people.
She said the 50 years of revolution has been full of difficulties and
challenges for Cuba.
"Our people have been able to overcome them with resistance, unity,
fidelity and hardwork under the leadership of Fidel Castro, Raul and the
Communist Party."
Guevara said all attempts to destroy the revolution have been
rejected.
"The Cubans have achieved remarkable results in all fields of the
social and economic activity. We are in a better position to go forward
with the renewed commitment of improving all aspects of the
revolutionary work and consolidate it for the benefit of our people and
as a contribution to development of revolutionaries ideas in our world." |
