Eight netted for collecting ransom

The Colombo Central Intelligence Bureau arrested eight persons including, a Police Sergeant and a young woman while they were allegedly collecting a ransom of Rs. 100,000.

The eight suspects have been arrested at Narahenpita police area. After recording statements of the eight suspects, they were produced before the Maligakanda Chief Magistrate C. Dodangoda and remanded till March 13.
