Time saves Panadura Royal

Time saved Royal College, Panadura from outright defeat in the hands of Vidyartha College, Kandy in their inter-school cricket match concluded at the Open Prison Camp Ground at Pallekelle. Royal College Panadura, who were asked to follow on with a deficit of 123 were struggling at 175 for 8 in their second innings when stumps were drawn.

Vidyartha: 352 (Ajith Pallihawadana 50, Thirantha Dissanayake 55, Sameera Abeyratne 67, Dinusha Gunatillaka 47, A. Gihan 2 for 44, P. Vimukthi 2 for 43.)

Royal: 229 (W. Silva 68, D. Vimukthi 68, Sameera Abeyratne 4 for 109. Lahiru Herath 4 for 55) and 175 for 8 wickets (P. Asanka 53, S. Gihan 61, Lahiru Herath 2 for 29, Sameera Abeyratne 2 for 27).
