President on State visit to Nepal

President Mahinda Rajapaksa will undertake a State visit to the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal from March 2 to 4 on the invitation of President of Nepal Dr Ram Baran Yadav.

President Rajapaksa will hold bilateral discussions with President of Nepal Dr Ram Baran Yadav, Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, Foreign Affairs Minister Upendra Yadav and other political leaders of Nepal.

President Rajapaksa is also scheduled to visit the SAARC Secretariat in Kathmandu.The two sides are due to sign agreements aimed at strengthening the political, economic and cultural ties between the two countries.

President Rajapaksa will also pay homage to the birth place of the Buddha in Lumbini.
