The Maha Sangha appreciate the good work done by President Mahinda
Rajapaksa to develop the country and eradicate terrorism and have
expressed their desire to support the Government in future elections,
Healthcare and Nutrition Minister Nimal Siripala de Silva said. He was
addressing the delegation of the Sri Lanka Freedom Bikkhu Balamandalaya,
Badulla District.
Minister de Silva said the people have again approved the good work
of the President as shown by the results of the Provincial Councils
elections recently. The Provincial Council elections were possible since
such the traditional UNPers and the JVPers have voted for the UPFA at
the elections.
The Minister analysing the history of the national crisis said this
conflict has gone through 30 years and all past Presidents have
attempted to end this problem but they failed. Only President Mahinda
Rajapaksa has answered the terrorists. Now the terrorists who are
cornered are trying to genocide even the Tamils. We have spent 200
billion on this war. When this war is over this money is a saving for
development.
