Power supply, roads for Ratnapura

Under the Maga Neguma Program in Ratnapura District, two roads and rural electrification projects will be commissioned by Power and Energy Minister W.D.J. Senewirathne today and tomorrow a Power and Energy Ministry official said.

According to the official, Balavinna, Meegahamadayaya and Henathgoda rural electrification projects will be commissioned by Minister Senevirathne tomorrow.

Around Rs. 97 million has been spent on the Henathgoda project. The project will provide electricity to 180 houses. Balavinna, Meegahamadayaya Project completed at a cost of Rs. 1.2 million will benefit 32 households.

The Minister will commission the Mendadola, Nawalakanda and Madalagama Janapadaya, Pitakanda roads constructed at a cost of Rs. Three million today. Around 1,000 families in these areas will benefit, the official said.
