healthcare service and nursing service.
Minister de Silva has already agreed to provide technical assistance
to Palestine to train nurses, a Healthcare and Nutrition Ministry
spokesman said.
He said Minister Bawana has expressed his surprise and satisfaction
about the way Sri Lanka is maintaining a free high quality health
service while fighting a brutal war with the LTTE for the past 30 years.
He had stated that many poor countries in the world charge money from
poor people for providing health service but Sri Lanka has been
providing a high quality health service to its citizens for the last 60
years which is a blessing for the people.
Minister De Silva has said Lankans enjoy this free health service
from treating a simple wound to major operations costing millions.
He also stated that every Sri Lankan Government came into power did
their best to ensure a free and quality health service to the people and
the present Government is now focused on developing human resources in
the health sector and to stop brain drain.
