Easy access for disabled

Social Services and Social Welfare Ministry has taken steps to provide the physically disabled to have easy access to all public buildings.

Accordingly the Ministry through a special gazette notification, issued instructions to make adjustments and modifications to existing Government buildings as well as to the proposed new buildings.

Under this scheme, 60 selected post offices, 14 Divisional Secretaries and railway stations at Colombo Fort, Maradana and Slave Island have already provided with the required facilities for the disabled.
