Sewing machines to initiate self-employment

The Minister of Youth Empowerment and Sociol Economic Development and the General Secretary of Ceylon Workers' Congress Arumugan Thondaman provided sewing machines to initiate the self-employment among the unemployed women in the Colombo Maligawatta Flats schemes recently.

The Minister came forward to contribute his services with the first hand knowledge for the upcountry people to also live in dignity and unity among other societies.

Following the predicaments of the women who are languishing of unemployment to maintain their daily expenses in the relevant area, the machines for self-employment were given to the large number of women that are living in poverty and who are waiting to carry out the job after finishing their education.
