Janashakthi meet MAS Active in MCA C Div. final

Janashakthi Group 'B' led by versatile all rounder, Charinda Fernando with seven straight wins under them go out as firm favourites to win the ETI-MCA Division 'C' 50 overs league Tournament title, when they meet MAS Active Synergy in the Final, today, at the P. Sara Stadium, commencing 10.00 a.m.

Unbeaten

Janashakthi's maintained an unbeaten record before reaching the final beating Bartleets by 35 runs, J.L. Morison by 5 wickets, Ceylinco Grameen by 50 runs, MAS Active Synergy by 19 runs, Stafford Motors by 7 wickets & HSBC 'A' by 6-wickets. Janashakthi 'B' as the table leaders had to meet fourth placed HSBC 'A' once again, in the semi finals, whom they crushed by 126 runs.

Janashakthi skipper Charinda Fernando and their strike bowler Ruwan Sampath is enjoying a wonderful season, Fernando cracking centuries against Ceylinco Grameen (105 not out) and HSBC 'A' (118), while Sampath accumulating a record number of 28 wickets in 7 matches including two 6 wicket hauls against JL Morison (6/16) & (6/12) against HSBC 'A' and a five wicket haul Vs. Ceylinco Grameen (5/39)

Their opponents MAS Active Synergy apart from their single blemish against Janashakthi 'B' have 6 convincing wins to their credit, beating JL Morison by 104 runs, Stafford Motors by 7 wickets, HSBC 'A' by 43 runs, Ceylinco Grameen by 3 wickets & Bartleets by 5 wickets, finishing as No.2 in the League table. They met the third placed, JL Morison in the semi-finals, whom they beat by 8 wickets.

Openers

MAS batting revolves around their openers, Dhanushka de Saram and Dhanushka Udugamsuriya and skipper Manoj Fernando. They will look up to their pace trio, Veranga Dissanayake, Sanjeeva Jayaratne and Gayan Malinga to make early inroads into the strong Janashakthi batting machine.

Nalaka Edirisinghe Managing Director/ETI will be the Chief Guest at the post match awards presentation.
